When living in a place like Steamboat Springs, one of the great perks is that your friends from all over the country want to come visit you. Whether visitors want to come in the winter to experience the Champagne Powder, blue bird days, stunning winter sunsets and the natural hot springs after a long day on the slopes or if they come in the summer and take part in tubing on the Yampa River, exploring charming downtown Steamboat on long summer days and hiking the many trails accessible from town.
My good friend from home (Seattle, Washington) came to Steamboat for the first time last weekend; it was her first time to Colorado. She was blown away by Steamboat, noting that her favorite things were the friendly people and just strolling around downtown starting our Christmas shopping. Early December is a great time to show off this town. The weather was great, the mountain is open and like always, the people make the experience.
